After an extended impromptu sabbatical, I thought I would get back to posting. A lot has happened over the past 6 or 7 months. We finished "the Host" and it is coming out it in Korea this month around the 27th and in the US around February of next year. My car died and I got a new one. We got a new spiffy place. Its the first time Ocala and I have ever moved just to get a better place. We are pretty happy about it. I am back up to two cats. I found "Arrow" scared out of his mind in the back parking lot of our apartment complex. Ocala and I both started feeding him and then the next day took him in.

I am also working fulltime at the Orphanage (the fx house I have been at), where I had been a contract employee. Life is still as hectic as every though unfortunately. I decided I need to get back to the things that keep me sane ... so he we go.

This is another shot in a group where the lighting was just really nice on the clouds and I liked what the polarization of the airplane window was doing to the shot.

I flew back home a few weeks back. I was only there a couple of days and tried to get in everything I could see. I went to a pizza place (Quatro's in Carbondale, IL) that I used to eat lunch at once in a while when I was in college. Mmmm... best pizza around. The place has been the same since I was a little kid and my older brother took me there. A funny thought struck me. Pizza that used to be about a 15 minute drive and cost about 2 bucks a slice, was now about 6 hours (of flying) and thousands of dollars in expenses to get. Talk about inflation. : )

The other day Ocala and I went out to eat with some friends and as we were walking across the street we could hear very well the hum of the power lines. Reminded everyone of the anime "Serial Experiments: Lain".

Weather from the ocean is quite interesting here. The clouds behave differently than what I am used to.

Well, its final. I am moving to LA. I have been hired by a company called Blur in Venice. It should be interesting. I stood on the beach and took it all in.

The day I left for the weekend my 19 yr old cat went blind. I found myself obsessed with sunlight staring down in the water. Cliche' I know, but things like that make you appreciate what you have.

The return trip to Spokane was relaxing and easy. The sleeper car was really nice, if small. The privacy was much appreciated. The whole day of traveling that these pictures are from was suprisingly quite. Unfortunately the sun set before we had reached the mountains of Montana.

In a few hours we are off to Minnesota for the holidays. I was thinking about it all morning and checked prices again (which dropped) and decided to take the train. I loved it last time I went. It is definitely an experience everyone should have at least once. I kept thinking Ocala would love it. So we switched around the tickets today. : ) A train ride through the Rockies and across the snowy plains of Montana and North Dakota here we come. This is a shot from last year when I went.
