A late night after work I was wondering out to find dinner down one of the back streets a couple of years ago. This light was humming away and I snapped this shot.

The Host is now out in theaters. Working on this film is always going to stand out as a unique and amazing experience in my career. I would like to thank Kevin Rafferty and Shadi Almassizadeh for taking a chance on me and giving me such a rare opportunity be involved in this work. Both the Korean and American crews showed so much dedication to making this film happen, I will forever be awestruck.

If you haven't seen one of Director Bong's films before, I highly recommend both Memories of Murder and Barking Dogs Never Bite. Both very outstanding films with some familiar faces in each.

<previous July 24 2007 - 01 North Shore of Lake Superior in Minnesotanext>
Well the new design is up. I will be upgrading old posts and comments to this format for a bit, there is a lot of them.

In other news, the Host is out on blu-ray today. And I have been at a new job for the past few months. Its a new company being started by Robert Zemekis, of Forrest Gump and Back to the Future Fame. Its a startup company being funded by Disney. It should be interesting.

I shot this a couple of years ago, while visiting the North Shore in Minnesota. I carried the frame around with me for a while trying to frame things. I finally settled on this little rocky valley that I had been waiting to see if a stream would form in. I thought the sharp cornered, very straight frame was an interesting contrast to the wave beaten rocks and curvy stream.

<previous July 25 2007 - 01 Riverside Park in Spokane, WAnext>
This is an older shot from the Riverside Park in Spokane Washington. I believe this is one of my first outings with a digital slr. I went to the park often taking pictures of everything I could. A lot of those shots show up on this site.

I liked the reflective quality of the burnt bark. The area had suffered a large forest fire years before and was slowly recovering. From the holes in the bark, you can tell that the tree already had bug problems long before the fire got to it.

A shot with my new 45mm Tilt and Shift lens. The minature affect is easy to achieve by tilting the focal plane. The curious thing is how much interest people pay to all the details when viewing them like this.

A shot from last year, during Christmas. I was looking at the light play inbetween the train cars.

Taken a couple of years back, very early in the morning as storms and the ducks made their way across Lake Superior. I just liked the subtlety of the picture. The ducks were completely silent as they went along while the distant storms rumbled. It felt like I was watching a funeral procession.

I took this while waiting for the ferry down in Tiburon. The light was just disappearing over the hills. That one interesting thing about Marin, the light near sunset gets cropped in interesting ways as the sun goes over the hills.

While waiting for my car brakes to get done, we wandered around Corde Madera near the waterfront. We saw this duck trudging its was through the mud. It wasn't hurt, but yet it didn't fly in favor of walking. You could hear its feet splat in the mud step by step.

I shot this of the edge of a house boat, a bunch of us stayed in during ComicCon. The sun was setting and I wanted to catch the light reflected in the canal.

I saw this guy meandering around in the rocks. He stopped perched on this rock and was just tall enough to catch the light as the sun was setting.
